Episode 7 of Sunday Reset on Unbearably Bullish — not everything deserves a place in your week. The Sunday Edit is how you decide what stays, what goes, and what gets your best energy.
THE SUNDAY EDIT: What Deserves a Place in Your Week?
Before Monday arrives, ask yourself one important question
Who edited your week?
Was it you—or was it your inbox, notifications, unfinished obligations and everyone else’s priorities?
A newspaper has limited space. Editors must decide which stories deserve the front page, which belong inside and which should never be published. Your calendar has the same limitation.
In Episode #7 of Sunday Reset, Donald Johns introduces The Sunday Edit: a practical system for evaluating commitments, establishing boundaries and creating an intentional week without building another overwhelming to-do list.
What You’Ll Discover
- Why every “yes” creates a cost
- How good opportunities can compete with essential priorities
- The difference between busyness and alignment
- How to evaluate requests before committing
- Why thoughtful boundaries can strengthen your reputation
- The importance of relationships and Sunday Funday
- How intentional margin improves judgment and adaptability
- The four editorial columns for organizing your week
- Major economic reports, earnings and potential market-moving events ahead
The Sunday Edit Filter
Before adding something to your calendar, ask
- Does this move a meaningful priority forward?
- Does this fulfill a responsibility that genuinely belongs to me?
- Does this strengthen an important relationship?
- Will my future self be grateful that I made room for it?
If the answer is no to all four questions, the commitment may be noise disguised as importance.
The Four Columns
- MISSION-CRITICAL
The small number of actions that advance your most important objective or fulfill a serious responsibility.
- MEANINGFUL
Relationships, conversations and experiences that give achievement a purpose.
- MAINTENANCE
Administration, preparation, health and other responsibilities that prevent tomorrow’s emergencies.
- MARGIN
Protected space to think, recover, respond, create and enjoy life.
Sunday Reset Challenge
Create four columns in your Sunday Journal. Place every major commitment for the upcoming week into the appropriate category. Identify one commitment that does not pass the Sunday Edit Filter. Then protect one block of margin before the week begins.
The Market Edition
We preview scheduled reports covering housing, economic growth, corporate profits, personal income and spending, PCE inflation, durable-goods orders and trade. NVIDIA’s scheduled quarterly results also place artificial-intelligence infrastructure and semiconductor demand in the market spotlight.
The objective is not to predict every market reaction. It is to recognize the events that may influence volatility while remaining anchored to your objectives, risk tolerance and time horizon.
You do not need a fuller week. You need a more intentional one.
You are the editor. Your values establish the standards. Your decisions determine what gets published. Your actions write the story.
